Jako ropuchy vidím prosté lidi, kteří v dnešní Koreji musejí opustit své domy, ale nikdo jim nedá nové, přestože jim je nasliboval.

V korejských pohádkách ropucha často pomáhá potřebným lidem v nesnázích. Dnes si bohatí a mocní lidé myslí, že obyčejní a často chudí lidé jsou jako ropuchy z pohádek a všechno jim i z toho mála, co mají, chtějí a musejí dát. Mocní často místo podaného prstu urvou hned celou ruku. Bolí mne to, jsem bezmocná.

To me, toads are simply ordinary people who are forced to leave their houses in Korea nowadays, but no one gives them new ones, despite the promises.

In Korean fairy–tales, the toad often helps the needy in distress. Today, the wealthy and powerful think that ordinary and often poor people are like fairy–tale toads and that the little they have, this they desire and must give them. Of the offered finger, the powerful frequently take the whole hand. This hurts me, I am powerless.
